The old seal can be removed from the retainer by driving it out from the back side with a hammer and punch after removing the retainer from the block. It should be supported on a couple of wood blocks, and the old seal can be driven out with a punch or screwdriver and hammer. It's important to note how far the old seal is recessed into the bore before removing it, as the new seal will need to be recessed an equal amount. Care should be taken not to scratch or damage the bore in the retainer to avoid oil leaks.

Note how far the seal is seated in the bore, then carefully pry it out of the oil pump housing with a screwdriver or seal removal tool. Wrap tape around the screwdriver tip and carefully work the crankshaft front oil seal out of the bore. Be careful not to nick or scratch the crankshaft or oil seal bore, and avoid scratching the housing bore or damaging the crankshaft, as damage can cause the new seal to leak.

Slowly and carefully push the seal onto the crankshaft. Work the seal lip onto the crankshaft with a smooth object, such as the end of an extension, as you push the retainer against the block.
