    Q:
How do you replace hazard warning switch, power mirror control switch, defogger control switch, and instrument panel light control switch on 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the hazard warning switch disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, remove the center cluster finish panel from the instrument panel and the electrical connector at the rear of the switch. The location of the hazard switch may vary depending on the model. Next, remove the switch from the bezel. The hazard switch is important to the heating/air conditioning controls and must be replaced as a unit for Camry models. To replace the Mirror Switch, locate the switch in a small panel to the left of the steering column or the driver's door panel and then, pry the panel from the dash or the switch from the door panel, then remove the electrical connector and the switch. For the replacement of the defogger control switch, remove the heating and air conditioning control panel and disconnect the electrical connector, depress the tab, and remove the switch from the bezel. For the instrument panel light control switch, remove the instrument cluster or the small removable panel to the left of the steering column, depending on the model. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the switch by squeezing the clips. Installation for all switches is the reverse of the removal procedure.

    Q:
How to remove and install the hazard warning switch, power mirror control switch, and dimmer switch on Toyota Matrix? Posted by Customer
    A:
For the hazard warning switch and rear window defogger switch replacement, remove the cable from negative terminal on the battery. Subsequently, make gentle extractions of the center finish panel of the instrument panel and also pull the assembly to disconnect the electrical connector at the rear part of the switches. Hold with one screwdriver at the holes as shown in picture #3 and turn the second screwdriver to compress the switch retaining tangs and pull out the switches, to install the switches reverse the process. As for the power mirror control switch and dimmer switch, these can commonly be found in a small panel to the left of the steering column; required steps will involve first carefully detaching this panel from the dash to access the electrical connector and then removing the switches, which will entail applying two screwdrivers to release the clips holding them in place; as for the reassembly of the switches, define the above given set of instructions in reverse.
