Remove the rear stabilizer bar mounting brackets and reposition the bar. Take out the four fasteners securing the exhaust heat shield below the fuel tank. Support the fuel tank with a floor jack, using a sturdy plank between the jack and the tank. Remove the bolts from the fuel tank straps, disconnect the vent hose at the rear of the tank, and any other hoses or wiring harnesses attached. Finally, remove the tank from the vehicle. To reinstall, simply reverse the previous steps.
