Remove the latch retaining screws (to detach the latch assembly from the door, remove three screws) and then remove the latch assembly.

Using an ohmmeter, check the continuity of the switch terminals as follows: a) With the key turned to LOCK, there should be no continuity. b) With the key turned to ACC, there should be continuity between terminals 2 and 3. c) With the key turned to ON, there should be continuity between terminals 2, 3, and 4 and between terminals 6 and 7. d) With the key turned to START, there should be continuity between terminals 1, 2, and 4 and between terminals 6, 7, and 8.
