How to remove and install fuel injectors and fuel rail on 2003 through 2009 Toyota 4Runner?

To remove fuel injectors, first, relieve the system fuel pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable. For V6 models, take off the engine cover, Air Filter Box, and upper intake manifold. Disconnect the vacuum signal hose from the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel supply and return line quick-connect fittings. Unplug the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors, remove the fuel rail mounting bolts, and extract the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove the O-rings and insulators from each injector, replacing them after coating each new injector O-ring and insulator with clean engine oil. Follow the removal steps in reverse order, checking for leaks post-installation. For V8 models, remove the throttle body cover and air intake duct. Unscrew the pulsation damper, disconnect the fuel supply line banjo fitting, and the fuel return hose and vacuum signal hose from the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the electrical connector and hoses from the EVAP canister purge valve, remove the purge valve retaining bolt, and detach the fuel injector/ignition coil wiring harness. Remove the banjo bolts connecting the fuel rail crossover pipe to the fuel rails and extract the fuel rails and fuel injectors. Remove each injector from the fuel rail and replace the old O-rings and grommets with new ones, coated with clean engine oil. To install, seat the injectors in the fuel rails and their bores in the intake manifold. Use new sealing washers to install the fuel rail crossover pipe and for the fuel supply line banjo bolt. Follow the removal steps in reverse for the remaining installation.
